I love taking pieces of Irish history out of old tins and turning them into something you can wear every day.
For this piece, I built the design around an authentic, original 1976 Irish five pence coin, featuring the iconic Irish harp (Cláirseach). To balance the vintage coin, I framed it with vibrant, repurposed green agate beads, hematite beads and lustrous freshwater pearls, giving it a rich contrast of deep emerald green and soft cream. The whole design is suspended from a durable stainless steel paperclip chain with a striking front-facing toggle clasp.
At a comfortable 46cm length above the toggle, it sits beautifully near the collarbone—a little piece of nostalgia, craftsmanship, and Irish history wrapped up into one unique statement piece.
I hand-assemble every piece in my studio, giving old coins and repurposed components a whole new life.
